Many fans of China Rising Radio Sinoland send Jeff J. Brown recommended websites and articles to look at. He too is scouring the non-mainstream information realm for his research, book writing and journalism. These same people and others ask him what he is checking out. Herewith is a list of what he has looked at and researched recently. It will be in first person, contain between 10-15 items, be continuously refreshed and kept near the top of the column page. The newest entry will be at the bottom of the list… Learn how the world really works.
China’s huge, global summit this weekend will continue to change world history. It will be mostly censored and belittled in the Western propaganda mainstream media. Poor Americans and their satrap Europeans getting poorer by the day. When all you have is an imperial hammer, all you see are nails to beat down into submission. I will be interviewing Dr. Godfree Roberts after the summit, to talk about what happened in Beijing. Stay tuned.
Note: here is that interview:
This year is the 100th anniversary of the Russian Revolution, a cataclysmic movement that changed the world forever. Not that you would know it in the US and much of the West, where this history has been violently and intentionally obliterated from public consciousness and widely censored in the media and education. TeleSUR does some outstanding historical journalism. This is a nice montage on one of humanity’s most important sociopolitical events.
TeleSUR continues to impress me. Here is an excellent analysis of what is really going on in Venezuela: the full bore funded overthrow of its popular government, by the United States. Carefully absorb its observations about Western propaganda. CNN-BBC-PBS-NYT-Wapo not.
As a senior editor and the China correspondent for The Greanville Post (TGP), I am honored to have gotten Mr. John R. Hall on the team. He is a terrific writer and keen observer of the human condition. Check out all his work on TGP and Dissident Voice.
Recently, I also invited John onto my China Rising Radio Sinoland show. He has quite a life story to tell:
One of the great satirists on our time, John Rachel is a prolific author and journalist. Like all writers of the genre, John makes us laugh at the absurdities of the human condition as well as lament the seeming hopelessness of our trajectory. However, deep inside, John is always the optimist. I have read several of his books, both fiction and nonfiction. All highly recommended.
Ramin Mazaheri has written an outstanding article about Iran that should be must reading for the ill- and uninformed. I learned a lot. You will too.
I had the privilege of interviewing Ramin recently, on China Rising Radio Sinoland. Listen to it here:
Unfortunately, I found out about this particular war crime, among many, after “China Rising” and “China Is Communist Dammit” went to press. However, in “China Rising”, I fully exposed the West’s many other crimes against humanity via the use of biological and chemical weapons and in “China Is Communist Dammit”, America’s grotesque genocide of North Koreans is fully exposed.
I have also been very active about reporting on the Korean peninsula. Learn how the world really works:
Jeff’s journalism about Korea
I just finished reading the classic account by Anna Louise Strong, “When Serfs Stood up in Tibet – from Serfdom to Socialism”. I frequently use the “half true rule”. Even if her mortifying description of pre-revolutionary Tibet and the positive changes thereafter are only half true, why in reason’s name would any Tibetan want to go back to such a hellish existence under the Dalai Lama, or refuse what happened afterwards? Only if you are a member of the dictatorial aristocracy, which is now exiled in India.
I actually bought the print book, but it is available online for free:
I just started reading Frantz Fanon’s anti-imperial classic, “The Wretched of the Earth”. I am sure it will give me much food for thought. It is in print to order at any bookstore, and translated from the original French into a number of languages:
Jean-Paul Sartre wrote a scathing, anti-Western preface, which is available online. Let’s just say that J.P. was on fire when he wrote it!
It’s hard to find someone who really catches the American zeitgeist, like Linh Dinh. I’m so impressed that I just ordered his book, “Postcards from the End of America”, which I will pick up this summer, when we go back to the US:
There are two others in the same league as Mr. Dinh: John R. Hall and John Rachel. They both have articles posted above.
We read about communist countries, like China, Cuba and North Korea. But India, with popular voting, one state, Kerala, has been governed by the Communist Party of India (CPI) for decades. The results are in. Kerala has the highest literacy rate, life expectancy and Human Development Index in the country, Kerala. Here is an article that explains it all about Kerala’s:
Whew! Frank Scott is on fire and on the mark in the brilliant smackdown of Western hypocrisy, perfidy and capitalism. I have been trying to get him on my radio show, but he humbly admits his old guy technical skills are not those of a plugged in, 16-year old geek. I think he would be wonderful to have on. Maybe leave him a comment suggesting just that:
Godfree Roberts has been on the China Rising Radio Sinoland show a number of times. He is witty, refreshing and deadly informed about how the way the world works. He will be publishing “China 2020 – Everything You Know Is Wrong”, in the coming months. This article is a excerpt from 2020:
Note: Godfree has been guest a record seven times to date on Jeff’s radio show, and there is a reason why. Every time he comes on is like a breath of fresh air and a big, contented smile. Herewith is the list. Take the time to listen to them all. You will be glad you did:

John Pilger’s latest piece is excellent as usual. His writing hits the mark, because he usually makes it a testimony to his own life experiences. Not armchair critic, this man. As usual, The Greanville Post (TGP) does a masterful job of adding key information and visuals to the text. I am a senior editor and the China Correspondent for TGP, something for which I am very honored:
Mr. Gaither Stewart is a fellow editor of mine at The Greanville Post. We have also both published books with Punto Press. Here is his excellent, personal account of living and working in and around Iran and Afghanistan, during the critical late 1970s and 1980s, and how these two countries are much more married at the hip than the West will ever admit:
Godfree Roberts has written a wonderful piece on Mao Zedong. I wrote chapters about Mao in my two books, China Rising and China Is Communist Dammit! From my chapters, I was happy to offer a few of the statistics that he used in this article. Bravo, Godfree!
As a complement to Godfree’s great article, here is another angle to look at 20th century’s most influential world leader:
