Wow! What a fun and fascinating conversation I had today with Jerome Irwin, based in British Columbia, Canada. Connecting his Irish and Tyrolian (Northern Italy) ancestral roots to the First Nations peoples of North America, he has been christened by Native elders with the name “Twin Rainbow”, which you will see is very apropos, after watching/listening to our discussion. This 82-year-old philosopher and musician has a wonderful life story to share with you.
Short bio: Jerome Irwin is a Canadian-American writer who once upon a time in university was a Criminology student while working in one of America’s local police departments. For decades, Irwin has especially sought to call world attention to problems of environmental degradation and unsustainability caused by a host of environmental-ecological-spiritual issues that exist between the conflicting world philosophies of indigenous and non-indigenous peoples.
Irwin is author of the book, “The Wild Gentle Ones; A Turtle Island Odyssey” (www.turtle-island-odyssey.com), a spiritual odyssey among the native peoples of North America that has led to numerous articles pertaining to: Ireland’s Fenian Movement; native peoples Dakota Access Pipeline Resistance Movement; AIPAC, Israel & the U.S. Congress anti-BDS Movement; the historic Battle for Palestine & Siege of Gaza, as well as the many violations constantly being waged by industrial-corporate-military-propaganda interests against the World’s Collective Soul.

You’re a brave man they tell me.

defended who deserved it, put a brand
on the untalented, the ersatz writers
(doing what anyhow had to be done).
And now they press to tell me that I’m brave.
How sharply our children will be ashamed
taking at last their vengeance for these horrors
remembering how in so strange a time
common integrity could look like courage.
