Pictured above: judges of the International Criminal Court, who have always been spineless finger puppets for Western empire, since its modern creation after World War II. They get their marching orders from Washington and Brussels and do as they are told.

[dropcap]L [/dropcap]ast week, the Philippines wisely pulled out of the International Criminal Court (http://www.manilatimes.net/the-real-story-behind-the-icc/387141/), joining a growing list of countries around the world.
I wrote about this (http://chinarising.puntopress.com/2016/11/05/the-dark-skinned-exploited-peoples-of-the-world-are-calling-the-west-for-what-it-is-racist-china-rising-radio-sinoland-161105/). The developing world is dubbing the ICC the “International Caucasian Court”. It has only prosecuted one white person, Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic, a socialist, Orthodox Christian ally of Russia. His was a grotesque travesty of Western (mis-) justice (as was the destruction and dismemberment of Yugoslavia), whose frameup was eventually retracted, after he died (https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/01/world/europe/vojislav-seselj-war-crimes.html). Of course by then, the damage had already been done (https://www.rt.com/news/yugoslavia-kosovo-nato-bombing-705/). As I detailed in China Rising – Capitalist Roads, Socialist Destinations (https://ganxy.com/i/113798/), Serbia now has a higher degree of cancer and birth defects than Hiroshima and Nagasaki did, after their atomic annihilation, thanks to NATO carpeting the country with nuclear weapons, in the form of depleted uranium (http://serbiasos.blogspot.com/2013/02/depleted-uranium-radiation-resulting.html).
The US refuses to let anyone from the Western hemisphere be put on the ICC docket. It is another imperial tool to pervert justice and deflect from the West’s thousands of greater crimes against humanity. In the above Manila Times article, the author graciously suggests the ICC has “declining credibility”. It never had it in the first place. It has always been a sledgehammer to destroy Eurangloland’s enemies, who have all been dark skinned and/or communist-socialist. This article gives a good explanation of the sordid situation and horrific hypocrisy of empire (http://chinarising.puntopress.com/2017/09/03/ramsey-clarks-and-jay-jansons-way-to-stop-western-genocide-make-the-bastards-pay-china-rising-radio-sinoland-170903/).

Poor Yugoslavia. Had quite some good stuff going for it, yet it didn’t receive the support it needed from the left around the world. I’d much prefer its socioeconomic model to those of America and its clients.
Sergio, you are in the majority among Eastern Europeans and Russians. Check this out:

Jeff in China
As a rebuttal to both Aeon and the anti-communists, the Warsaw Pact and Non-Aligned Movement largely adopted a war path with repressive measures (this doesn’t justify the excesses that may have been there, mind you), as Michael Parenti and Stephen Gowans have both pointed out, because they were under constant assault by the West, all the way back to the founding of the Soviet Union. Should Bashar al-Assad let al-Nusra or the Israeli Defense Force conquer Syria in the name of “tolerating dissent”, for example? What if Queen Elizabeth paid Anglophile Americans to try to seize the East Coast as recovered territories of the British Commonwealth, under the guise of anti-Trumpism? How could any rational person consider that a genuine exercise in democracy?
Now, in the cases of the recently declining West and developing countries like Kenya or Indonesia for a longer time, there’s been no proven correlation between electoralism in representative democracy and the rule of law, good institutions, or a good quality of life. This truth shouldn’t be taboo in polite conversation anymore.
