Live from the streets of China, Jeff

Note before starting: John is one of the most talented fiction writers today. I put him right there with Tom Robbins and Thomas Pynchon. I’ve read three of his novels and book on “The Peace Dividend”. When you go to his website (https://jdrachel.com/) to read the article below, sign up for his RSS feed and buy one of his books. I love getting his articles in my mailbox.

I will up the ante on John’s article title. Julian Assange is not just a courageous journalist, but a martyred, modern-day saint, for the good of all humanity. Most get murdered by global capitalists, with Gandhi, JFK, MLK and RFK being obvious examples. While not global at the time, we can start with Jesus Christ being killed by Palestine’s (banking) capitalist elites, 2,000 years ago. The list is long and grows by the day across the planet. Hundreds of anti-imperial journalists and activists are murdered every year and if we take it down to the not-reported local level, they surely number in the thousands. Like Chelsea Manning, Assange is still alive, and Edward Snowden got lucky, but all whistle blowers and truth tellers risk their lives and liberty to seek socioeconomic justice and peace for all humankind.

Summary: Lest we forget what this courageous man has accomplished at the risk of his life, here are the ten most important achievements by Julian Assange and Wikileaks, as provided by New Zealand citizen journalist and whistle blower, Suzi Dawson.
