I am pleased to have on the show today members of The Trotskyist Platform (TP), based in Australia. They are Praba Balasubramanian and Samuel Kim. It takes a lot of guts making personal and professional sacrifices to be a declared communist-socialist in Oz Land, where the government and elites demonize and persecute anyone who does so. It’s called “liberty” in the West.
TP is working very hard to free Australia’s “other Julian Assange”, Mr. Chan Han Choi, who is being stripped of all his human and civil rights and could spend the rest of his life in prison. Watch/listen to our discussion together at how outrageously and criminally he is being treated. Democracy and freedom my ass!
TP is hoping to get this case more publicity around the world, as the Australian government seems worried about it becoming an international cause célèbre. If you and your local organizations will protest on behalf of Mr. Chan, especially in front of Australian embassies, businesses and offices in your area, it will put noticeable pressure on the Oz police state to release him.

The non-far-left press takes so many shots at Stalinism, when political movements and governments rarely refrain from suppressing opposition if they judge it convenient and/or even necessary, regardless of ideology or their position on the left-to-right spectrum. All the while ignoring that the Soviet Red Army under Josef was at least the biggest contributor to defeating the Axis in the second World War. This is why “Eurangloland” promotes philosophical idealism over materialism or even simpler dialectic and structural analysis. I’d argue this is also the reason why the campaign to characterise the American college system in general (which has its flaws, but regardless of them) as “bastions of bleeding-heart progressivism” or “producing unemployed hippies and artists” is so popular, to innoculate your population of fellow Americans against more sophisticated or empathic thinking- and it definitely shows in online comments sections or during elections.
Also in my opinion, the ignorance, bigotry, viciousness and entitlement often demonstrated by those fellow Americans is sometimes more soul-crushing than the police state. A rotten government for rotten citizens (okay, not the majority, but definitely a visible percentage).
