When the testimonials bang on about climate change and peak oil, I know I’ve stumbled into a coffee table coven, peopled by men who admire feminists and wave tiny rainbow flags.
As one who has observed China since the early 1960s, with reliable insights provided by Rewi Alley and other permanent residents, and waving fistfuls of Mao Badges and Little Red Books, I was well ahead of the academics.
Later, with Chinese members of family abandoning their own languages in favour of Mandarin, and all inculcated with the Age of Sino Empire, I knew exactly what Xi was up to.
Then with China sending money to 1.2 million invaders to buy up arable and residential land, it was clear that military invasion was old hat. Australia was conquered via the back door.
Sorry, Jeff. I don’t buy it.
